İstinye has two sides. Down by the water there is a quiet bay with a small marina and fish restaurants; up the hill, around İstinye Park, there are residential complexes and serviced flats. People who book here are often residents and families, Gulf visitors renting a flat for the summer, and guests resting after a dental or cosmetic procedure who prefer to stay away from the centre. Many buildings are gated, so tell security you are expecting a nurse.
The usual estimate is 55–75 minutes after the doctor approves. The coastal road along the Bosphorus is slow on summer weekends, so the nurse may come via the upper roads from Maslak. İstinye is in the central zone and the visit is free; between 22:00 and 07:00 add €40. If you are staying further north towards Tarabya, that area is in the far zone, where a €30 visit fee applies.
