Our notes on this area
Taksim has one of the densest hotel clusters in Istanbul, from the grid of mid-range hotels in Talimhane to the larger towers along Cumhuriyet Avenue towards Harbiye. Medical travellers often stay here because the M2 metro runs straight to Osmanbey and Şişli, where many hair-transplant, dental and aesthetic clinics are based, so clinic transfers are short. Business travellers and guests at events near the Atatürk Cultural Center and the congress area make up most of the rest.
Traffic around the square can be slow at rush hour and during big events, but most hotels have a car drop-off, which keeps access simple. Please tell reception that a nurse is expected, so they can send them up without delay. The nurse usually arrives 40–60 minutes after the doctor approves. Taksim is in our central zone: the visit is free, with a €40 supplement only for night visits between 22:00 and 07:00.

Local questions
01My clinic is in Şişli but my hotel is in Taksim. Where should the nurse come?
Wherever you rest, usually your hotel room. Both areas are in the central zone, so there is no visit fee.
02Will my hotel let a nurse in?
Most do. Tell reception that a visitor is expected for your room; the nurse can also call you from the lobby.
03Can you see two of us at the same hotel?
Yes. Couples get 10% off and groups of 4 or more get 15% off. Each person has their own doctor review.
04What if I feel unwell after my surgery?
With chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting or severe pain, call 112 first. Derman is not an emergency service, and your clinic’s aftercare instructions come first.
