Tophane and Fındıklı form the flat shoreline strip between Galataport and Kabataş. Many guests here stay in waterfront hotels or in short-let flats on the side streets that climb towards Cihangir. A fair share are medical travellers a few days after a hair transplant or dental work, who chose the area for the tram line and an easy ride to clinic check-ups. Others are cruise passengers and business visitors who land tired and want a quiet hour of fluids before a long day.
Meclis-i Mebusan Avenue, the coastal road, is the easy way in for our nurse. The lanes behind Kılıç Ali Paşa Mosque are steep and narrow, so a pinned location and a note about the building entrance save real time.
