Our notes on this area
Fatih covers most of the historic peninsula beyond the tourist core. Families from the Gulf and Iran often rent flats here for longer stays; medical tourists use the hotels around Aksaray and Fındıkzade; and Balat and Fener, by the Golden Horn, draw visitors who like colourful streets and short-term rentals. Many guests are in town for a week or more of clinic visits and prefer a nurse who comes to the door.
Distances are longer than in Sultanahmet, and Atatürk Boulevard and Vatan Avenue can jam at rush hour, so plan on 50–70 minutes after approval. Balat lanes are steep and cobbled, and some flats have no lift, so send the exact address and a photo of the entrance. All of Fatih is in the central zone: daytime visits are free, and 22:00 to 07:00 adds €40. Many buildings here are quiet family homes, so the nurse arrives discreetly and leaves nothing behind.

Local questions
01We rent a family flat in Fatih for two weeks. Can you come to a private home?
Yes. Homes, rented flats and hotels are all fine. The nurse needs a clean surface, a bed or chair, and about an hour for most drips.
02Is Balat too far for a visit?
No. Balat is part of Fatih and in the central zone, so there is no visit fee by day. Arrival is usually 50–70 minutes because of hills and traffic.
03I had a hair transplant and stay in Aksaray. When can I book?
Send the questionnaire with your procedure date and medicines. The doctor decides the timing, and your clinic’s aftercare comes first.
04Can my parents have a drip too?
Each person fills in their own questionnaire. The doctor may decline or postpone, for example with heart or kidney failure or certain medicines, and will explain why.
